Falafel restaurant

The food tasted good but made me sick almost immediately. Not sure how fresh it was. Please work on the quality. It looked fine overall so I don't know exactly what happened. I had a schnitzel. I am not sure what kind of oil is used for frying it.

Unfortunately we had a less than stellar experience. This is a basic grill style cafe and the prices even for kosher food are extremely inflated. The service was friendly but they ask customers to go to a counter to order and pay in advance - aside from meaning tips don't go to staff necessarily - this means if one is not happy one cannot simply say one doesn't want to pay. In our case we ordered a humus stater which was enough for two but only arrived with one small piece of pita bread - we had to order and pay 80p for a second piece! A customer at another table ordered extra pickles and was told to pa extra. This all just came across as quite mean. Pre extra pita, our bill was over £54 for a shnitzel and a laffa wrap - so a piece of extra pita should really be on the house. The salads accompanying our dishes were good, fresh and varied, but the dishes were sub par. My dining companion's shnitzel seemed frozen, not freshly breaded and quite basic. My kebab was not a kebab but rather three kefta style burgers. The leffa bread was completely cold and quite unpleasant. When we complained the restaurant did nothing but just said that's how it is. I left the restaurant my name and telephone number as the owner wasn't there, incase they cared to call and make things right.

You can tell how good a bakery is by how busy it is. The queue was big enough to know it was worth a visit but service was excellent so no long hold up. The beef and veg pasty was enjoyed by myself and the kids. The cakes all looked amazing. The bread we took home was so tasty we will definitely go again next time we are in York.

The King's Speciality is SO good and the wrap is huge, enough to serve two people, ha ha. Friendly cook, highly recommend

Really good sized portions , helpful, and quick service. I had a wrap with falafel and fresh veg and a choice of dressings. That can do a spicy one too.

Went here recently for a light vegan/vegetarian meal with a friend. The place is very clean, service was fast and the prices were good.The menu is small and perfect for lunch without overwhelmingly unnecessary options. The falafel were made fresh and spot on with a crunchy exterior and soft interior. We both bought the lunch box and fresh pineapple juice (not the nonsense from concentrate stuff).Good size portion, good price and nice fresh ingredients make it difficult to fault the place. Don't know how fast service will be it was really busy but I shouldn't imagine too long with the menu. Would definitely go again if I was eating lunch or light meal in the area.

Grabbed a quick snack the sharwama wrap was lovely a good deal too £4.50 with chips and drink. The chicken fatayer was baked fresh delicious need a little bit of chilli flakes on top of a chillies sauce. Food was nice would return a little family run shop .

My second visit and edited review with the same 5/5 rating. Great falafel in the heart of London. Quick, friendly service, delicious fresh falafel. Loved it and will come back. Thank you!
