I used Manak Solicitors in August 2023 and the only word I could possibly use to describe their service is AWFUL. I have to give a special mention to Samir who is someone who lacks compassion and is very blunt in they way he explains things, which comes across as rude majority of the time. Rather than having a tailored approach to each case he deals with it is very clear that Samir has the same approach to each of his fare evasion cases as it feels like he’s reading from a script. He is very quick to point out how I “messed up my case” during our initial consultation which caused me to panic. I have no expertise or experience dealing with the law but I’m pretty sure that a solicitor is supposed to calm and reassure their clients, but with Samir it’s the total opposite as he simply makes you panic and doubt yourself, which is simply not good for anyone’s mental health. I also asked him to accompany me on my court hearting date and he outright said “No” and barely explained why he couldn’t represent me and offer me the support I clearly needed through the entire court process. If you want a rude, disrespectful and lazy solicitor then Manak solicitors is the place to go and if you really want to screw your life and mental health up I highly recommend asking for Samir Moftah in particular alongside his assistant Holly who can’t even book you in for a simple consultation without making a a complete mess of the date.

Samir helped me with an a fare dispute issue with Northern Rail. His services were immaculate, his communication prompt. He was well worth the fixed fee he charged for the service (in fact slightly lesser than some competition). My advice would be to reach out to him as soon you receive the first communication from the rail company. He settled my matter within 2 days of contacting him.
