Eclectic restaurant

It is a beautiful restaurant just behind Regent Street. Beautifully crafted dishes. All are small in size, so you can try many different dishes. And these flavour bombs are more than worth it.

Have wanted to try Stones restaurant for years now. We were there for the new winter 2023 menu. Lovely staff, great service, incredibly attentive. Amazing food, loved the canapés that were given throughout the courses, a lovely special extra touch. The salt-baked beetroot starter was insanely good, hitting all the taste buds of classic salt, sour, creamy, crunchy *chefs kiss*. The trio of pork main was also dreamy and my partner had the beef which he said was gorgeous. Desserts were great, and coffee lovely. We will definitely be back. Thank you.

A bit of an addiction for me as a fast, cheap, tasty lunch stop where you can sit and read a book whilst eating. There might be a rule here for restaurants that the fewer things they have on the menu the better they are! Tried the meatball boxes and they are great, but for me the Green Chicken Pitta tops them all.

We had the tasting menu. Thoroughly enjoyed by all. Staff very attentive. Wonderful place for a special meal

This place used to have great quality food even if a little pricy. Recently been disappointed to find the muffins that they're charging £3.25 for, are often dried up and I would guess left over from the day before.

We had a lovely meal at the Florist. Beautiful place, so pretty! The food we had was delicious, although we did think not a huge variety of choice. The only reason for my overall score of 4 stars is because It was a very hot day so restaurant could benefit from air con or fans as it was very warm in there. Our waitress Cecilia was very cheerful and friendly. Overall lovely place and will be going back.

Lively hip and intimate ambiance. Everyone’s like family and it really translates on to the personal and fun service. How cute that they’ve set up a record corner/ collection that each leaving staff leaves as a memorbilia.Generally great and inventive small plates, cheese platter, and natural wine and other drinks selection.Great for: dates, small groups 2-3Rating: 4.5

Overall, the food was OK. Some of the food hit the right spot, some did not. Service was good.Snack beetroot - The beetroot overpowers everything else, a bit of apple taste towards the endDuck prune - Duck was very tastyCauliflower soup - The truffle is quite overpowering, although the soup is quite smooth.Bread and butter - Homemade, very moist and melts in your mouthAsparagus - cooked really well, tortellini melts in your mouth and a burst of flavour comes out. The asparagus at the bottom absorbing all the juice very succulent.Octopus - very tasty, mix of carrots and octopus and coriander works really wellCod - Lemon miso was too overpowering and bitter, be very sparing with tasting it with the cod or mussels. Cod melts in your mouthLamb - Slightly chewy, potato and turnip was very nice.Haggis was a good surprise and a flavour bomb.Rhubarb was nice, the ice cream was a tad too sweetChocolate made of whey didn't work in my opinion, the taste was off. Been a while since Boothroyd visited this bar on Albert Square...opposite the Town Hall..currently a building site but hopefully re-opens in 2024. Always been quite a plush John Willy Lees business. Good covered patio in front. Boothroyd had a pint of bitter. Very good. My better half did not like the lager selection. San Miguel, and a brewery lager by JWL. So she had wine. Do a fair pub food menu, 2 mains for £17.95. Std fare. It's definitely a bar rather than a pub in a good location. Well worth a visit if you like a good bar.
