Christchurch Harbour
Christchurch Harbour was formed about 7,000 years ago. Christchurch Quay and Quomps lie in the upper reaches of the harbour. The entrance to the harbour, known as 'The Run', is flanked by Mudeford Quay to the north and Mudeford Sandbank to the south.The harbour SSSI (Site of Special Scientific Interest) is very popular with birdwatchers and includes the estuary of the rivers Stour and Avon as well as Hengistbury Head - a total of 870 acres.The harbour entrance channel is shallow and subject to constant movement. The channel is marked by red and green buoys

Lydney Harbour
A lovely surprise at the end of a very industrial road. Free parking a short walk from an excellent little café. The round walk is mostly wheelchair accessible bar the first lock gate which has a step at both ends. Great views of the River Severn. Popular with dog walkers and joggers.

Portsmouth Harbour
Great views from the Harbour Tours boat -under an hour. Good sitings of warships,especially HMS Queen Elizabeth.Terrificwalk along the harbour's edge. So muchgoing on. Radiates history. Easy access.

Whitstable Harbour
Beautiful, Oysters and stout for lunch then a lovely walk along the front. Whitstable Town is also full of lovely independent shops. A great day out!

Nice little spot for a visit on a good weather day. Plenty of eateries, little shops etc...even If perhaps it's aquired a slight air of pretentiousness these days.

Christchurch Harbour
Wow very scenic, lovely weather 23° harbour side there are bars and cafes, eateries, ice cream Van's, shops, bandstand, swans, boats, lots of lovely walks riverside, or along the dock lands & park.Very clean very tidy place to visit, lots of qwerky stores too look around, places to wine and dine too.
