Strathisla Distillery
We've visited several distilleries, this was the most interesting, informative and enjoyable so far. Our guide Briony was superb, combining information, warmth and bubbly personality to great effect. The whisky tasting end to the tour was made more meaningful by the way she conducted it. Top marks!

Went as a mixed aged family group (3 generations). All thoroughly enjoyed it and what an insight into this sometimes misunderstood animal. Fab, thank you.

It's OK for locals but has nothing much to offer holiday makers

I had a wonderful time in Cardiff! I highly recommend the tour. Sian was beyond lovely, and my friends and I got the chance to both admire the city and taste traditional Welsh food. A truly worthy option if you're visiting Wales.

We booked a private bus trip with Colin. His local knowledge and driving skills on the country roads are amazing. I've done the Summer Wine tour in the past and it was amazing and good value for money.

Cotton Star
Back in January 2023 I booked a 2 night weekend at Cotton Star for June. Communication was difficult and very patchy, and I tried to pay a deposit on numerous occasions. I was assured by the owner that my booking was in their diary though. Then today, May 2nd, I had a text message from them basically saying that they can't honour the Saturday night I had booked. No explanation, just a useless apology and an offer to swap my booking to another weekend. My friend and I have already booked the time off work on the Friday, and found it really difficult to find a weekend we were both free. Absolutely won't be camping at Cotton Star, ever!

Cotton Star
I hired the entire site at Cotton Star Camping this summer for a surprise 30th birthday party. I was looking for somewhere outdoors, dog friendly with lots of room for camping & playing games. Cotton Star Camping was the perfect venue for everything we needed and I'm so glad I booked.Sarah was a pleasure to deal with from the very start, we arranged to meet on site where Sarah could show me the entire site and she really painted a picture of what the party could look like. The site itself is a basic campsite but has everything you need and I personally loved the stripped back, back to nature vibe the venue offered.Sarah was happy to answer any questions through the period in the run up to the event and her communication was excellent. On the day Sarah was on site to help set up the site and was happy to assist with any last minute queries we had.The real appeal to Cotton Star Camping is the blank canvas it offers, Sarah is really relaxed and happy for you to create your own perfect event. We hired a pizza food vendor & a DJ sound system. The fact the site is a campsite, offers everyone the chance to camp under the stars and enjoy sitting around a fire at the end of the night. It also provides space for people to stay the night meaning you get the added bonus to spend time together the morning after the party to reminisce and enjoy the event all over again.I'd highly recommend Cotton Star Camping to anyone in the future and a big thanks to Sarah for letting us use the site for our special occasion.

Hull's Old Town
Hull's historic old town is a fascinating mix of architectural styles, quirky pubs, old narrow cobbled streets, the old fruit market, and a lovely 'boardwalk' trail alongside the River Hull, the Arctic Corsair (though at the time of writing the ship's been moved for restoration work and to a new home), The Deep aquarium, and skirting the old town and around to the marina.
