Aquithie Boarding & Quarantine Kennels & Cattery
I have so many wonderful things to say about Su and Aquithie Kennels. I recently arrived from the US with two dogs in tow--with the same paperwork. One was released to us the other put in quarantine. As we are based out of Scotland I chose Aquithie Kennels as it was the closest kennel that manages quarantine. I was distressed to put it mildly. I was able to connect with Su quickly and she immediately got the process started to transfer Shakko to Aquithie Kennels. Within a day of his arrival she and the vet were able to see that he met the requirements for entry and had been erroneously quarantined. Su then helped appeal Shakko's case quickly so he was back with me in ten days.Su went above and beyond to communicate with me regularly, even when I was perhaps messaging too much. She put me at ease and took time to educate herself on his breed and listen to my concerns. When I picked Shakko up he was in good spirits and had been well taken care of. Having never been kenneled before I was glad he went through it with Aquithie as I couldn't have asked for better care for him during this process. If you have to board or quarantine your dog in Scotland (or the UK) and don't know where to go, I recommend them with every fibre of my being. Su, her husband, and her team care about each of the animals and their human families that stay at Aquithie.

Wildlife Aid
I was walking with my friend along the river in Leatherhead on Tuesday 28th November. We saw a fox with a plastic jar stuck on its face. We called Leatherhead Wildlife aid and I stayed by the fox that was weakening and fell by the brambles. Hayley waited for help to arrive in the car park near by….They were brilliant and rescued the fox and pulled the jar off its face. I can’t seem to get an update so if anyone has any information about the fox surviving and being released back I would appreciate it.

Knypersley Reservoir
Really nice walk and short enough for small ones. Free parking and interesting story boards but could do with a nice cafe as the one at the visitor centre is only open at weekends. Still, maybe best left quiet as it is.

King Tours Scotland
Don’t tour Scotland without Paul! From the moment I contacted him, he was professional, helpful and always responded in a timely manner to any questions I had. He worked with me to create an itinerary based on what we wanted to see.I cannot speak more highly of the 5 day tour of the Highlands my friends and I took with Paul. His knowledge of Scottish history helped bring to life all of the castles and beautiful places we visited, always leaving us with things to think about. He frequently suggested little stops off the beaten path that he thought we would all enjoy seeing, which we always loved.Paul is funny, engaging and a proud Scotsman. He went out of his way for us more than once and was always happy to suggest a restaurant or local shopping. We all left with a love of Scotland and we will be recommending him to anyone we know traveling to Bonnie Scotland. Thank you Paul for giving us a tour of a lifetime. I cannot wait to return to see more of your beautiful country.

Absolutely amazing!!The facilities provided for all visitors were superb! We took my 18month old son and 5month old daughter with us and felt like they both got to see and learn plenty from their short trip today. And to show my infantile children animals that were happy and well looked after couldn't have made me happier!!The 12 o'clock display was breathtaking, the handler knew a wealth of knowledge about the birds he was showing and we wished we could have stayed to see the 2pm show.We went for a stroll around the lake and got to read about local critters and animals as well as learn some interesting facts along the way!Highly recommend a visit even if it's only for just a few hours!!We will be returning to visit again for sure!!

Rangers Lodge Wildlife Hospital
Very helpful in the past with injured pigeon and baby birds saved from our cat.I would always advise to ring and discuss first to make sure they can help. Also in need of various foods for the animals cared for so worth checking to see what's needed if you want to help support their work by donating.

What can I say about Paul, other than he exceeded every expectation (and then some) on our private tour of Glencoe and The Highlands. He took us off the beaten path where the usually tour buses can’t go, and gave us such great history and background. The next day we booked a walking tour of Edinburgh where he once again showed us some very cool highlights of the Old Town. We won’t hesitate to book Paul on another tour when we’re back in Scotland. He was super accommodating, thoughtful, and worked with us to create a custom experience.

Red Deer Range
Lovely place to see Red deer, there’s a type of hide there where you can go in and view; or stay outside and they shove their noses through. You can feed them fruit and veg, but crisps and other stuff are a no-no. We didn’t manage to see the stags unfortunately
